The base is solid Poplar, the handle is solid Hickory and the back is solid copper. Hand rubbed Tung-oil finish with a leather strap. Enjoy the functional elegance of this authentic handmade wooden dustpan; Truly one of a kind. I use this as my everyday dustpan. Not a toy and not for use by small children hold by handle not by copper backsplash. Peace!
