Handmade broomcorn broom on a foraged tree branch stick

The art of broom making is alive and well in Wisconsin! Our handmade broomcorn brooms are designed and made with functional beauty in mind.  This entire broom is hand-made in our studio in Wisconsin.  We start with a walk through the woods to find recently fallen hardwood trees for broomstick handles.  The sticks are cleaned up, sharp edges smoothed, varnished, and finished with a hand cut leather strap.  North American broom corn is soaked, hand tied, plaited with tarred twine, and then hand-stitched flat with hemp twine to create a true elegant and working piece of art.   Enjoy!
