This rare beautiful handmade broom features a striking Paper Birch broom stick from a tree that fell down on our property in Wisconsin. The Paper Birch broomstick makes this broom more of a display piece than an everyday broom such as the other hardwood-handles brooms we also make. Hand tying of the broom is finished by hand-plaiting, or weaving, the broomcorn onto the broomstick with tarred twine; the broom is then stitched flat with hemp twine....no metal wire in these brooms.
