This broom is hand-tied on a solid ash broomstick that we also make from local hardwood in our shop. This broom features a stick with our signature rounded octagonal cross-section broomstick that provides a firm positive grip and is a pleasure to sweep with. The natural beauty of the handmade ash stick is brought out with multiple coats of Tung oil finish on the broomstick. Hand tying of the broom is finished by hand-plaiting, or weaving, the broomcorn onto the broomstick with tarred twine; the broom is then stitched flat with hemp twine....no metal wire in these brooms.
